Embracing Nature Near Santiago

Situated just outside Santiago, Chile, Isa House is a thoughtfully designed retreat that fosters a deep connection with its natural surroundings. Developed in two stages, this project embodies the client’s vision of a compact residence harmoniously integrated with nature.

The house is meticulously divided into two volumes, one for public areas and one for private spaces, each offering expansive views of the majestic mountains. This layout not only optimizes the stunning scenery but also enhances the overall living experience.

Designed to respond to the Mediterranean climate, Isa House features generous eaves that create a sheltered space between the indoor and outdoor environments. This transitional area offers comfort and flexibility, bridging the gap between the natural elements and the home’s interior.

A standout feature of the design is the preservation of an old Eucalyptus tree, which gracefully crosses the main façade. This element adds a unique scale and reinforces the home’s connection to the surrounding landscape, embodying the client’s desire for a seamless integration with nature.
