Seba House
Built 2013
Santiago | Chile
Modern Design in Context
Standing on the south slope of a steep hill in the traditional shire of Lo Barnechea, Chile, Seba House is a striking example of modern architecture tailored to its unique setting. Designed for a young professional, this compact yet sophisticated residence embraces a contemporary aesthetic while integrating seamlessly with the natural landscape.
The two-story house features a design concept centered around a unifying element that connects its distinct volumes. This approach not only enhances the visual coherence of the structure but also underscores its modern identity.
Seba House boldly showcases an exposed iron structure, paired with dark cladding that imparts an industrial character. This modern material palette is thoughtfully balanced with natural timber and river stone sourced from the surrounding environment, creating a harmonious blend of industrial and natural elements.
This design reflects a commitment to honest, thoughtful architecture, offering a distinctive and dynamic home that harmonizes with its hillside location.
